Terms of Use

Use of this site constitutes your acceptance of these terms which take effect on the date which you first accessed the site. Skillfinder reserves the right to update the Terms of Use at any time without notice to its users. Users are responsible for reviewing information posted online to obtain timely notice of such changes. Your continued use of this site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of this agreement as modified by the posted changes.


Names, Images and Logos

The names, images and logos identifying Skillfinder or third parties and their products and services are proprietary marks of Skillfinder and/or third parties respectively.

Skillfinder is committed to safeguarding your privacy online. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details of our firm commitment to privacy.


Services

If any of service of Skillfinder requires you to open an account, you must complete the registration process by providing current, complete and accurate information as prompted by the applicable form. You are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account. Furthermore, you are entirely responsible for any data provided and all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify Skillfinder immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. Skillfinder will not be liable for any loss that you may incur as a result of someone else using your password or account, either with or without your knowledge. However, you could be held liable for losses incurred by Skillfinder or another party due to someone else using your account or password. You may not use anyone else's account at any time, without the permission of the account holder. Creating serial or overlapping accounts may result in account termination.


Submitting Content

As a condition of submitting any content or other materials to the sites or services, you agree that:

  • You grant to Skillfinder a royalty free, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, nonexclusive, transferable, and sub licensable license to use, reproduce, copy, adapt, modify, merge, distribute, publicly display, create derivative works from, and incorporate such Content into other works.
  • Grant to Skillfinder all rights necessary to publish or refrain from publishing your name and address in connection with your Content; sublicense through multiple tiers the Content, and acknowledge that this license cannot be terminated by you once your Content is submitted to the Sites and Services.
  • You grant to Skillfinder all rights necessary to prohibit the subsequent aggregation, display, copying, duplication, reproduction, distribution, or exploitation of your Content by any other party.
  • You are solely responsible for your reviews and ratings. Skillfinder may, in its sole discretion, choose to remove or not to remove reviews and ratings once published.
  • You will not submit any reviews that may be considered by Skillfinder to be infringing, harassing, libellous, abusive, threatening, obscene, profane, hateful, offensive, harmful, vulgar, distasteful, defamatory, or otherwise violates any relevant law or right of any other party, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable.
  • All of your reviews and ratings will either be based upon (i) your actual first-hand experiences (ii) as provided below, an individual and that individual's actual first-hand experience with a healthcare or wellness provider whereby you have the legal authority to disclose such health information and experience of such individual.
  • You have not received any form of compensation to post reviews and ratings.


Publication and Distribution of Content

Skillfinder cannot and does not guarantee the accuracy, integrity, quality or appropriateness of any Content transmitted to or through the Sites and Services. You acknowledge that Skillfinder simply acts as a passive conduit and an interactive computer service provider for the publication and distribution of user-generated. You understand that all posted on, transmitted through or linked through the Service, are the sole responsibility of the person from whom such Content originated. You understand that Skillfinder does not control, and is not responsible for Content made available through the Sites and Services, and that by using the Sites and Services, you may be exposed to Content that is inaccurate, misleading, or offensive. You agree that you must evaluate and make your own judgment, and bear all risks associated with, the use of any Content. You further acknowledge that Skillfinder has no obligation to screen, preview, monitor or approve any user-generated Content on the Sites and Services. However, Skillfinder reserves the right to review, modify and/or delete any Content that, in its sole judgment, violates these Terms of Use. By using the Sites and Services, you agree that it is solely YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to evaluate your risks to bear associated with the use, accuracy, usefulness, completeness or appropriateness of any Content that you submit, receive, access, transmit or otherwise convey through the Sites and Services. Under no circumstances will Skillfinder be liable in any way for any Content, including, but not limited to, any Content that contains any errors, omissions, defamatory statements, or confidential or private information (including, but not limited to, health information) or for any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of any Content submitted, accessed, transmitted or otherwise conveyed via the Sites and Services. You waive the right to bring or assert any claim against Skillfinder relating to Content, and release Skillfinder from any and all liability for or relating to any Content. Skillfinder has no obligation to review, monitor, or remove any Content or other materials, except as required by law. You may, however, report Content that you believe violates these Terms of Use or is otherwise unlawful. Please note that you may be liable for damages (including costs and attorneys’ fees) for unlawful misrepresentations. If you are uncertain whether an activity is unlawful, we recommend seeking advice of an attorney. You agree that Skillfinder may establish general practices, policies and limits, which may or may not be published, concerning the use of the Sites and Services, including without limitation, the time that reviews and ratings will be retained, the maximum number of reviews and ratings that may be sent from an account, the length of reviews and ratings sent, and the maximum number of times and the maximum duration for which you may access the Sites and Services in a given period of time. You agree that Skillfinder has no responsibility or liability for the deletion or failure to store any Content or other materials maintained or transmitted by or through the Sites and Services. You agree that Skillfinder has the right to change these general practices and limits at any time, in its sole discretion without notice.


Unlawful and Prohibited Use

As a condition of your use of the Services, you will not use the Services for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms of use. You may not use the Services in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Skillfinder server. You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any of Skillfinder services, other accounts, computer systems or networks connected to any Skillfinder server or to any of the services, through hacking, password mining or any other means. You may not obtain or attempt to obtain any materials or information through any means not intentionally made available through the Skillfinder services. Save as herein provided, you are prohibited from using or removing any content from the Skillfinder site by any means for commercial purposes and from using the site for commercial purposes. Where such use of materials is desired the source must first be identified and written consent provided.

While using this web site you may access third party web sites through links. Such third-party web sites are not under our control and we are not responsible for the availability of such sites or their contents. Any links provided on the web site are provided for your interest or convenience only and do not represent or imply any endorsement by us of such linked site and we cannot be held liable for any loss or damage which may arise from use of such third-party web site or contracts entered into resulting from the use of such third-party web sites. You acknowledge that the use of such third-party web sites is governed by the terms and conditions of use applicable to such sites.


Exclusion of Liability

In no event will Skillfinder be liable for any damages including, without limitation indirect or consequential damages, or any damages whatsoever arising from use or loss of use, data, or profits, whether in action of contract or negligence, arising out of or in connection with the use of the site. No warranty is given that this website shall be available on an uninterrupted basis, and no liability can be accepted in respect of losses or damages arising out of such unavailability. We accept no liability in respect of losses or damages arising out of changes made to the content of this website by any third parties. Access to and use of this website is at the users’ own risk. If these Terms of Use are not accepted in full, the use of this site must be terminated immediately.


Database of Users

We endeavour to grant access to the database only to USERS who agree to abide by our Terms and Conditions. However, should a third-party gain access to your data by evading our security measures, we cannot be held responsible.


Ensuring Quality of Content

Vacancy Advertising and Database Access Clients must abide by the following terms which outlines the Agreement of Services entered into between themselves and Skillfinder. The following terms of use are in place to protect the quality of the content on site. Quality content means that jobseekers can find the most relevant positions quickly and easily and that employers receive relevant applications.

  • A job slot can be used to advertise one job only, not multiple jobs.
  • Entering successive or multiple keywords that do not form part of a standard job description is prohibited - for example "java, java, java" or "We specialize in Sales, Marketing and Engineering".
  • To ensure equal exposure for all positions advertised on site, job adverts may only be updated/amended a maximum of five times per day.
  • Once a job has been added and a created date has been generated, this date may only be changed with the permission of Skillfinder.
  • Each position may be posted once only. Posting duplicates of the same job gives unrealistic search results.
  • It should be made clear in the job description if a jobseeker is not applying for a specific position, but rather their resume is being added to a bank of resumes for future positions that may arise.

Chronological CV
Sometimes known as a traditional or a graduate CV. A chronological CV is used to match qualifications and experience with the requirements of a job. This CV is structured in reverse chronological order; providing clear details of qualifications, employment history and responsibilities.

Functional / Skills-Based CV
The skills-based CV allows individuals to emphasize on skills they have developed. This CV can be used if the applicant has a skillset that is required for a job but has limited professional experience, unrelated qualifications and/ or significant gaps in their employment history.

Academic CV
Focused on educational achievements, academic CVs are used when applying for lecturing or research-based roles. They differ to general or chronological CVs as they include sections on publications, teaching experience, research activities, conferences and presentations.

Technical CV
A technical CV would usually include a key-skill heading i.e. Designer, followed by a paragraph of technical expertise and experience. Though the contents are technical, this CV still needs to be drafted in a manner that non-technical individuals like HR Managers can understand it.
